HomeWhy Choose Us

Surfacing You Won’t Have To Think About Again

Anyone can spread hot mix. The difference shows up two winters later, in the edges, the joins and whether water is still running off the way it should. Here is what we do differently.

Six reasons

What Sets Our Work Apart

01

We Quote What We See

Every price follows a site visit, never a phone estimate or a satellite image. You get an itemised figure based on the ground we have actually walked on and tested.

02

Depth Where It Counts

Thin asphalt is the cheapest way to win a job and the fastest way to lose a surface. We build to the depth the traffic needs and tell you what that depth is.

03

Drainage Sorted First

Water sitting on a surface is behind most early failures. We correct the falls and deal with where the water goes before anything is laid over the top.

04

Our Own Crew And Plant

The people who quote your job are the people who turn up to do it, with our own machines. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor once the deposit is in.

05

Hand-Finished Edges

Machines cannot reach every edge, join and transition, so those get done by hand. It takes longer and it is the part of the job you look at every day.

06

No Moving Targets

If digging turns up something nobody expected, we stop and tell you what it means before we touch it. Nothing gets added to an invoice you have not seen.

The finish

What a good job looks like close up

Stand at the top of a driveway and you can usually tell inside ten seconds. The edges are straight and supported rather than crumbling away. The joins where new meets old are tight instead of ridged. Water runs off to one side rather than sitting in a puddle by the garage door.

Those details take longer and they are the first things dropped when a job is priced to be cheapest. We would rather quote what the work actually takes and hand over something that still looks right in a few years than win the job on price and be embarrassed by it later.

Worth knowing

Where Surfacing Jobs Usually Go Wrong

None of this is a secret in the trade, but it rarely makes it into a quote. If you are comparing prices, these are the four things worth asking any contractor about.

Talk to Our Team

Not Enough Base

A surface laid straight over soft or uncompacted ground will move under load. Ask what base material is going in and how deep it will be compacted.

Falls Left Alone

If the existing surface pools water, a new layer over the top will pool water too. Ask whether the falls are being corrected or simply followed.

Thin Cover

Depth is easy to shave and hard to see once it is rolled. Ask for the compacted thickness in writing rather than a general description of the finish.

Unsupported Edges

An asphalt edge with nothing holding it will crumble under a wheel. Ask how the edges will be finished and supported, especially on driveways.

How we work

The things you actually notice

Big claims are easy. These are the day-to-day habits that decide whether a job is a good experience or a frustrating one, and they are the ones we get told about afterwards.

  • Calls and messages answered by someone who has actually seen your site.
  • A start date we hold to, and early notice from us if weather moves it.
  • Garden beds, paving, gates and fences protected while the plant is on site.
  • The area swept and the spoil carted away, not left in a pile for you to deal with.
  • Traffic control and signage wherever the public or your staff have to get past.
  • A straight answer if a repair will not hold, even when a bigger job is the honest recommendation.
  • Work staged around trading hours so a car park does not have to close.
  • A walk-through before we leave, so nothing gets discovered after the truck has gone.

Our promise

No surprises, either way

You will get a price based on a real site visit, a date we intend to keep, and a phone call the moment anything looks like changing. If we find a problem under the surface we tell you before we act on it, and if a cheaper option would do the job we say so.

That works both ways. If a repair will not hold, or an area really does need more work than you were hoping for, you will hear that too. It is a lot easier than explaining afterwards why something failed.

Fair questions

What People Ask Before Choosing Us

Still weighing up quotes? Call 1300 388 740 and we will talk through what you have been offered.

Usually it comes down to depth and base. Two quotes for the same area can differ a long way depending on how much material is going in underneath and how thick the surface will be once compacted. Ask both of us for those numbers in writing, then you are comparing the same thing.

The surfacing work is done by our own crew with our own plant. On larger civil jobs there are specialist trades we bring in, kerbing and line marking for example, but they work under us and you still deal with one point of contact rather than several.

Yes, and we do it regularly. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired, needs resurfacing or has a base problem that has to be dealt with first. Sometimes the answer is that it is fine and does not need touching yet.

We are. A single driveway, a patch repair or a few potholes are all normal work for us. Small jobs get the same site visit and the same written quote, they just take less time and less material than a road build.

Tell us. We would much rather come back and sort it out than have you living with something that bothers you. Raise it at the walk-through or ring us afterwards, and we will come and look at it.

Yes. We travel into regional Western Australia for larger jobs and rural work, and we bring our own plant with us. Give us a call with the location and we will tell you straight away whether we can get to you.

See the difference for yourself

Get us out to look at your site and compare what we tell you with what you have been quoted elsewhere. There is no cost and no obligation — just an honest read on what the job needs.
